Staycation

1st August 2014

Checked in:
 Klapsons Boutique Hotel

This was the biggest suite (at the corners) and it was the craziest, prettiest, largest room I've ever stayed in.

Lousy photography skills of mine can't capture the glory of the extremely spacious wardrobe that we eventually didn't use. Lol.

Klapsons is a couple-themed kinda hotel so their bathrooms are all designed with an open concept. You can always request for shower curtains from the receptionist though.

All ours.

Toiletries from Chopard. You kidding me?!

I actually did a video of a "room tour" but it wouldn't load :(
Dear Blogger, please do something about the video uploading?

Chucked our stuff all over the place and rested for a bit before heading out for lunch. We managed to find this cafe-ish place nearby and it surpassed our expectations.

Sevenlicious Bistro & Cafe

Amateur Guy

 Amateur Girl

Was still bent on eating semi-clean because I've already had a few treats. The wrap was surprisingly really good. That black goopy thing was supposed to be curry, but I guess the filter was a little too…dark.

Anw the prices were pretty reasonable too and I will totally have this again if I'm around the area.

Went back to the hotel to lam nua until it was time for dinner. We had such a hard time finding a place for dinner because we wanted to try something new but most of the restaurants around the area that are still open only had the 2 extremes: V Expensive, or V Lupsup. Either that or they're mostly for drinking.

We finally googled until we found a place that sounds awesome, except that we couldn't find it and it took us almost an hour until we finally stepped through its doors.

The Flying Squirrel

Because we had no reservations and the place was full, we had to take the counter seats, but it was pretty cool because we got to see the sushi chef and bartender at work. We were so fascinated our conversation topics revolved around the precision and years of working experience and level of skill the sushi chef has to have in order to cut such fine slices of sashimi at such crazy fast speed.
Please. Don't. Judge.

It is as fresh as it looks. I can't believe I caught its freshness on camera.

Something fish. I can't really remember the name of the dish but it's THE SHIZZ. The fish melts in your mouth with the exploding taste of the sauce and whatever else it was cooked with.

I don't know whether it's grilled or flamed but it's PERFECT.

After our dinner we took a slow stroll back to the hotel and went for a little grocery shopping on the way.

Bought drinks & snacks for more lam nua-ing.

Relaxation at its best. I'm gonna work so hard so I can have one in my future home. (Or a bigger bathtub will do just fine)

The night I developed my love for Peppero: Hami Melon Flavour and Pockky: Choco Banana Flavour.

Rated: Best hotel in Sg I've ever stayed in so far.

All I can say is, thank you.

While Procrastinating...

The title says it all. I am typing this while "taking a break" off my theories in finance. Why the hell did I ever choose finance as my minor, I don't know. Perhaps it was how sophisticated the modules sounded. I am officially screwed. 10/20 for the test yestd. On the dot. It's scary knowing I am one question away from failing.

14/7/2014

Cathay Platinum Suites again for Rise of the Planet of the Apes.
Really enjoyed watching it in ultimate comfort. The Platinum Suites make getting first row seats less of a problem because you can slide the seats all the way until you are practically lying down. Lol.

17/7/2014

Inspired for a "casual dress up" (is there such thing?) right before I head out for dinner. I wonder why I've never dressed like this when I was younger.
Only wanna dress young when I realize I'm getting old and people might soon judge me for dressing like that. 人是犯贱的.

Super shiok Lava Cake from Chocolate Origin as my last sinful dessert before I embarked on my "eat clean" diet.

I was going to start on a "eat clean" diet because I got to know that we were going to wear skin-hugging costumes for Production and I knew I got to do something about the unsightly flab and rolls. Hahahaha. Girls.

Eating Clean Day 2:

Taught by JP: Pop salmon steak into the toaster, add cherry tomatoes, ready to serve.
Preparation time: 5 minutes

Eating Clean Day 6:

Boiled veggies while I watch TROS/RM after getting home from dance practice.

Self-taught: Throw all kinds of veggies into boiling water, drain, ready to serve. Tasted pretty raw though. It's a good thing I love tofu, carrots & tomatoes. I love broccoli too but the supermarket ran out of them so I got cauliflowers instead.

Preparation time: 5 minutes

P.s. I am a lazy cook.

A treat during dance session. Please, you cannot imagine how happy I was to finally reach my cheat day.

27/7/2014

Adventure Cove Outing w SoulVibe before K goes to serve the nation.

Had to give practice a miss because of this, which resulted in me not being able to participate in the closing item :(

I couldn't back out of this outing because the date was chosen with accommodations made to my schedule. And in the end, I didn't regret my choice. It was helluva fun.

Actually I had more fun queuing instead of playing the rides because we will play silly games with silly punishments while waiting. Everyone around us was staring and laughing at us while we flick foreheads and arms.

Went for Steamboat (again) for dinner after Adventure Cove. D bought Hot Star while we walked back to Vivo to take the bus and I swear, it tasted like heaven because we were all pretty damn famished. Was really exhausted at the end of the day but it was one of the few most well-spent days of July.

27/7/2014

Back to rabbit food.

Eat Clean Day 10:

Mumsy cooked this for me knowing my diet, which is damn sweet because she tried to make the soup with all my favorites, yet as "clean" as she can. (See how she sneaked in the Fuzhou fish balls?)

Eat Clean Day 12:

By Mumsy again. She loves sneaking in my favorite stuff. Hello Meatballs & Crab sticks!

My SkinnyMint finally arrived. This thing really deserved all the hype. I'm still taking their tea now, although I'm a little more slack with following the routine now.

30/7/2014

Eat Clean Day 13:

The freaking first time my order from Astons look so….dry.

Tickets for production. If you didn't catch it, your loss.

31/7/2014

The day I almost got a panic attack while checking for buses to school.

Did you realize I just updated for almost the entire July? Yeah I'm amazed too.
Be back soon.

Random Dinner Dates

 6/7/2014

Yes, this date is from all the way back in July. I'm a frigging procrastinator, just like how I'm still procrastinating studying for 2 tests, coming up tomorrow & Friday. Shoot me.

Randomly decided to give Genki Sushi a try since we were in Orchard Central. I believed I have dined at Genki before, but it certainly didn't felt like it, because I don't remember such good food at low prices and I certainly don't remember the electronic train thingy that serves our food. Did it change a lot?

Disclaimer: All pictures are not edited. The only thing these pictures have gone through is the "food" mode on my camera.

Everything is da shizz. Vowed to return there, have already been there 3 times since. Genki officially took over Sakae's spot in my heart. Hahahaha.

7/7/2014

Random dinner date (again). JP came over to meet me after I ended school and we had no idea where to go from there, so we decided to just take a bus to upper thomson and see what we can find. I haven't tried Fat Boys before so we went for it.

All I can say is, I've finally learned how to eat a burger "the proper way". Yes, I finally knew what the stick flag is for.

11/7/2014

Upper Thomson. Again.
Randomly searching for a new place for dinner, but nothing appealed to us then, so we went to Wafflelicious again. Lol.

Drinks that eventually got spilt. That was probably the 4th time I spilt JP's drink. It just always happen ONLY with him. Like my drink will be perfectly fine, and it's always his drink I topple over. And let me make this clear, I have never ever toppled drinks, be it mine or others', before I knew JP. It's really a very funny thing because it happens to be his pet peeve and he always get mildly pissed when it happens. And even until now, the only person's drink I have ever toppled over, is his.

Savoury waffles as main course.

Ice cream for dessert.
Poorly taken with my phone, but hey it's pretty decent right.

I have so many things I wanna update this space with, but I really gotta go back to staring at graphs I don't understand and give a shit about but I have to because I need to pass.

Till the next,
X
