RenixTravels | Taipei Day 4

25.05.2015

Finally a proper itinerary on Day 4. Headed to Tamsui (淡水)

Loved he weather that day cus it was super cooling but it wasn't rainy so I could run around in the open and not perspire much.

This is the view once you exit from Tamsui Station.

Chubs from all that street food for supper.

Tamsui Old Street (淡水老街)
Expect lots and lots of food. There were a few shops that were selling clothes, and UFO catcher shops which seemed to still be doing quite well in Taipei.

Yes and please ignore my beanie. It rode up and I didn't pull it back down before taking pictures.

Fried Durian.

Noms.

After Tamsui Old Street (淡水老街), we decided walk our way to Tamsui Fisherman's Wharf (淡水漁人碼頭) so we could explore the area. Found this super pretty looking church and all the tourists started gathering to take pictures after we started the ball rolling.

Food shack that wasn't open.

Found a pretty spot to take my OOTD:

Editing makes a lot of difference guys.

Unfortunately, the weather wasn't cold enough for me to hike up with my jacket on.

Fort San Domingo.

Fort San Domingo was originally a wooden fort built by the Spanish in 1629 at Tamsui District, New Taipei City, Taiwan. It is located near Hobe Fort, which was built during Qing rule. -Wikipedia

It is now a museum that is open to visitation for free.

If only I went to schools that has balconies like these.

Located right beside the Fort San Domingo is Aletheia University.

Love how the stones were sparkling on the sidewalk all the way to Tamsui Fisherman's Wharf.

Finally at Tamsui Fisherman's Wharf (淡水漁人碼頭) after 3 hours plus.

And then I attempted jump shots.

Someone should probably photoshop me sitting on a flying broom in this one.

Wheeeeeeeee

Settled for dinner at a cafe just along the harbor.

Didn't seemed like much but it had been a long tiring day of exploring.
You can actually buy tickets for the speedboat to go back to Tamsui Old Street.

Went to Raohe Night Market (饒河街觀光夜市) afterwards. I still prefer Raohe to Shihlin Night Market tbh. The food there is cheaper, and some tastier, and there were more selection for fashion accessories and apparels too. Or rather, more that were my type.

Loots of the day:

Luffy plushie: Tamsui Old Street UFO Catcher, Shoes: Raohe Night Market

Although the stuff are cheap, do expect lower quality as well. The canvas shoes are of better quality tho, cus they're not that cheap. It's quite easy to spot the stall cus all the shoes are on display and you'll see the lady boss painting the shoes behind the table.

Supper:

Didn't get as much from Raohe this time round cus we were pretty full. And we were already eating while strolling down the streets of the night market.

I think the excitement for the sights pretty much only exists the 1st time round so I'll most probably not be back unless
1. I have nothing better to do in Taipei
2. Someone else I'm going with requests to go

Nonetheless, at least it's one strike off the list.
